Give Aloha

77510 GIVE ALOHA at Foodland and Sack ‘n Save to help us raise funds! 77510

Match Up

Hawaii Right to Life is participating in Give Aloha, Foodland’s annual community matching gifts program.

How it works: From September 1-30, customers are invited to make donations of up to a cumulative total of $249, per person, per organization, to participating Hawaii non-profit organizations at checkout. Foodland and the Western Union Foundation will match a portion of each donation. We will receive 100% of what you give plus a percentage of Foodland/Western Union’s matching gift.

How to donate: At checkout, present your Maika’i Card and inform the cashier that you would like to make a donation to Hawaii Right to Life. (If you do not have a Maika’i Card, you may request one.) Our registration code is 77510. The cashier can also look up our code if you forget it. Your donation will be added to your grocery purchase total.

Are these contributions tax deductible? Yes, they are deductible to the full extent to the law. Please save your store receipt for tax purposes since it will be the only record you will have of your donation. The amount you donated to us and our name will appear on your receipt. Any donation must be made payable to Foodland or Sack n’ Save. Donor names will not be released to HRTL, so if you would like us to know of your gift, please contact us directly so that we may properly acknowledge your gift.

This is a great opportunity to multiply your donations to Hawaii Right to Life with Foodland’s Give Aloha matching gift. Remember, contributions must be made by the end of September.

Mahalo, and God bless you for your contribution.

Local Event - Volunteers Needed to Help out HRTL at the Senior Fair

Hawaii Right to Life is looking for a few good men and women to staff our booth at the Hawaii Seniors Fair on September 21-23, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

We have divided the times into 2-hour shifts:

8:30 am - 10:30 am
10:30 am - 12:30 pm
12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

I will be there to open up at 8:30 am and help close at 4:30 pm. Our new Executive Director, Bev Larranaga, will be there at various times to help out.

Please consider what times on Friday-Sunday you can help us out. It is not a hard job. Just smile alot and nod at people going by. Some will stop to look at our handouts and may want to talk to you. Most of us know enough about the life issues to talk with them. For sure, you probably know more about the issues than the general public.

If you can help out any of the three days (or more than one shift), please give me a call at home (531-6737) or respond to this e-mail.

Many thanks for your help.

Carol White
Administrative Assistant

HRTL will reimburse volunteers if they park in the Blaisdell Center parking lot.

We now have the need for the following shifts:

Friday, Sept. 21: 8:30 am - 10:30 am / 10:30 am - 12:30 pm / 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

If you can help us, call me at 531-6737 or respond to this e-mail.

I know it is a little early for some of you to be making plans, so please keep this e-mail in your in-box and consider helping out.,
