Rachel's Vineyard Ministries is offering an important training seminar on Pregnancy Loss and Unresolved Grief scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2009.
The keynote speakers are the founders of Rachel's Vineyard Ministries, Dr. Theresa Burke, PhD, LPC, NPC, and Kevin Burke, MSS, LSW. This event is being sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Honolulu's Respect Life Office.
The issues addressed at this clinical training seminar are of grave importance to all Christians and professionals, especially those who work in the fields of education, psychology, mental health counseling, pastoral counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, campus ministry, pastoral leadership (clergy), healthcare, medicine, public policy, ethics, population studies, and other related areas.
WHAT: Clinical Training Seminar on Pregnancy Loss & Unresolved Grief
Seminar Topics: Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, traumatic re-enactment, men and pregnancy termination, how trauma impacts the brain, research on pregnancy loss, caring for special wounds, healing the wounded spirit, Clinical vs. Pastoral Models of Healing, Utilizing the Grief Process, Rituals and Sensory-Based Treatment.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 8:30am to 5:00pm (special breakout session at 3:40pm - 5pm for clergy and RV retreat leaders and counselors).
WHERE: St. Stephen's Diocesan Center - 6301 Pali Hwy (in the meeting hall)
WHY: To educate our community leaders and residents on abortion trauma, and to provide resources and methods for healing; CEU's are available for Professional Counselors (through the ACA), and will be available for Social Workers.
REGISTRATION FEE: $30 in advance (by September 18th) or $40 at the door. Includes food, beverages, and materials.
