Urgent Action Alert: Stop Abortion in Healthcare Bill

*****************************************************
IMPORTANT: It is critical that you call your two U.S.
Senators at least ONCE before the 1 AM cloture vote which will occur late Sunday night/Monday morning!
*****************************************************

As Washington, D.C., was buried in more than a foot of snow this morning, the last Democratic holdout in the Senate, Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE), publicly caved in to a compromise on abortion -- after being promised tens of millions of dollars of federal Medicaid funds for his home state.

The abortion "compromise" does NOT contain language similar to the Stupak amendment approved by the House which restricted government funding of abortion.

Instead, the compromise allows states to opt out of providing abortion coverage through the exchange and adds further layers of accounting requirements.

Unfortunately, the citizens of any state that "opts out" will not be exempt from paying federal taxes -- which will be used to fund the plans that do cover abortions in other states.

The bottom line: contrary to longstanding policy, the federal government will be forcing YOU to subsidize private health insurance plans that cover abortion -- resulting in the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade.

Majority Leader Harry Reid now believes he now has the 60 votes needed to move the trillion-dollar, abortion-laden health care bill forward -- and has scheduled the all-important CLOTURE VOTE to end debate for 1 AM late Sunday night/Monday morning.

*** ACTION ALERT ***

Regardless of what you are doing this weekend, it is IMPERATIVE that you call your two Senators NOW, and tell them loudly and clearly that "abortion is NOT health care!" If you wait until Monday morning when the sun rises, it will be too late!

This is a CALL-ONLY alert because less than 24 hours remain before the Senate votes.
