Yet Another Media Blackout on the March for Life Show Clear Abortion Bias

The media blackout on the march isn't just an oversight. It’s poor journalism. And our nation suffers because of it.

EWTN Picks Up the Ball NBC Dropped in Refusing to Air Pro-life Commercial During Super Bowl

EWTN Picks Up the Ball NBC Dropped in Refusing to

Air Pro-life Commercial During Super Bowl

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – See the pro-life commercial NBC refused to air during the Super Bowl on EWTN Global Catholic Network this Sunday Feb. 1, beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET and continuing through midnight ET.

The commercial, sponsored by Fidelis and Catholic Vote, centers around the theme: “Life: Imagine the Potential.” It will begin airing during “Faith Bowl II,” an annual Family Theatre made-for-television special, which analyzes the role that the Catholic/Christian Faith plays in professional and collegiate sports. This year, Major League Baseball’s Mark Loretta of the Los Angeles Dodgers will guest along with former professional soccer player Antonio Soave.

The commercials will continue throughout EWTN’s Sunday evening lineup, including the shows with popular series Hosts Father Benedict Groeschel and Father John Corapi, and will conclude at midnight ET.

EWTN also aired this powerful commercial several times during its extensive coverage of the March for Life; an event which has been boycotted by virtually every mainstream media outlet in the country, despite the fact that every year it is Washington, D.C.’s largest march.

The commercial can also be viewed on EWTN’s pro-life webpage, EWTN/a>, after 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, and, of course, on Catholic Vote.

What follows are the words that flash across the screen over a picture of an ultrasound during the must-see pro-life commercial: “This child’s future is a broken home, he will be abandoned by his father, his single mother will struggle to raise him, despite the hardships he will endure, this child will become the 1st African-American president. Life, imagine the potential.”

EWTN Global Catholic Network, in its 28th year, is available in over 148 million television households in more than 140 countries and territories. With its direct broadcast satellite television and radio services, AM & FM radio networks, worldwide short-wave radio station, Internet website and publishing arm, EWTN, is the largest religious media network in the world.

OBAMA Funds Foreign Abortions, Friday Fax needs your help to fight back...

The following is from Austin Ruse:
Within hours of his oath of office, Barack Obama signed an Executive Order that will allow US money to begin paying millions of dollars for abortions overseas.

Additionally, Obama has announced that he is eager to starting giving hundreds of millions of US money to the UN Population Fund in their work spreading abortion around the world.

What’s more, Susan Rice, Obama’s UN Ambassador has pledged that the Obama administration will ratify the UN Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The CEDAW committee has now directed 93 counties to make abortion legal.

Your help is needed right now for the Friday Fax to be ever vigilant in fighting what is turning out to be the most pro-abortion president the US has ever seen.

C-FAM and the Friday Fax are a mere hundred yards from the UN General Assembly building. C-FAM personnel have badges that give us complete access to the UN building. C-FAM personnel are in the UN building just about every day. C-FAM is the only pro-life group dedicated exclusively to fighting UN pro-abortion radicals.

The Friday Fax is the only weekly source of pro-life and pro-family news coming out of UN headquarters. Our primary readership is now over 200,000. Our pass along readership is likely twice that. C-FAM and the Friday Fax have created a world-wide network of like-minded people who care deeply about the spread of abortion around the world which is being fomented by UN radicals.

The Friday Fax is one of the only lonely watchmen on the wall. If the Friday Fax failed, much of the world would be in the dark about the nefarious plans of UN radicals and now the US government.

The Friday Fax needs your help. We are not about to go out of business. Sometimes these fundraising letters sound pretty dire. But we do need money.

It costs us more than $100,000 to put it out each year and that number is growing. We have to pay salaries, rent (in a small, windowless but still expensive office near the UN), printing and postage for the print edition of the Friday Fax, email fees and much else.

We need your help in raising $25,000 over the next three weeks.

Can you help us? Go HERE and give as much as you can. I know the economy is tough but someone reading this right now is able to make a sacrificial grant of $1000, $500, $100, $50. You can contribute HERE by using our totally secure server. Or you can mail you grant to us at:

C-FAM/Friday Fax
1100 G Street NW
Suite 450
Washington DC 20001

Also, please pray for us. Your donations are important but your prayers are more important. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t get an email or letter from a cloistered Sister or Brother saying they are praying for us. After all, we are David going after the enormous Goliath of the UN and the constellation of rich and powerful groups promoting abortion internationally.

Go HERE and help the Friday Fax. Go HERE and give as much as you can!

Yours sincerely,

Austin Ruse
Editor/Friday Fax

PS Obama has already agreed to pay millions for abortions over seas. He has pledged to pay millions to the UN Population Fund (we are the only pro-life group ever attached by UNFPA on the front page of their website!). Help us fight them. Go HERE and give as much as you can.

Bills to Legalize Assisted Suicide Files in New Hampshire, Hawaii Legislatures

No Dead YetPicture Source
With Washington state voters deciding to become the second state to legalize assisted suicide and courts in Montana poised to make it the third, the pro-euthanasia movement is working with legislators in Hawaii and New Hampshire to try to make them states four and five to allow the grisly practice.

Hawaii has tried and failed repeatedly to approve a bill to legalize assisted suicide.

A coalition of pro-life groups, religious organizations, medical professionals and disability rights advocates banded together to defeat the measure...

The battle lines are drawn: the pro-life challenge in America today

...During last year's campaign Obama did his best to downplay the abortion issue in most of his public appearances. He was the most radically pro-abortion presidential candidate ever nominated by a major political party, but he chose not to emphasize the issue in his campaign speeches (except in an obsequious presentation to a Planned Parenthood audience). His commitment to unrestricted abortion was never questioned; it was also never discussed.

Like any successful candidate, Obama won votes by exciting the enthusiasm of those who agreed with him, without unduly rousing the fears of those who disagreed. Now from his new position in the Oval Office, he faces the challenge of meeting voters' expectations. Inevitably some voters (those who disagreed with his policies) will be frightened that he is doing too much, while others (those who agreed with him-- his core supporters) will be frustrated because in their view he is not doing enough...

A Song for Life

Sing with your heart ! sing with your soul a love song over all the unborn of this world.... sing and pray over all the unborn.

It is now a scientific fact and known that babies in the womb respond to the sound of music !!!!! With this in mind sing your Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary during each day for life over the unborn....
you are sending out waves of love, allowing his word to encircle the earth !!!

Sing.... and over anyone you know... who carries a child, a friend, a relative... sing over the child !!!
For those who stand against abortion outside our abortuaries...
This may be the only blessing the baby may ever receive
Sing and claim the child for Christ.

Lovingly, all your Sisters

Please Help to Defend Life

Abortion Victim
Please take a moment to fax or mail your senators with your words of clear objection to FOCA. Most importantly, please continue to pray for an end to abortion worldwide.

Here is a sample letter, written by a concerned patriot, which you draw from in writing your own:

I urge you to oppose the Freedom of Choice Act as it is the most radical and divisive pro-abortion bill ever introduced in Congress.

Many support abortion based on “health of the woman”. The problem with that, of course, is that with the blurring of prescriptive conditions, abortion is far too often merely performed for convenience; “choice” of the mother, and in this context is simply murder. If you believe in God, you must know that He hates this. In fact, the events that might medically be truly defined as endangering the health of the mother, are essentially non-existent. Ironically, it is the legalized procedure of intentionally terminating the life of a child in the womb that is scientifically confirmed to derail the life of the woman who has had an abortion, leaving her often with an increased likelihood of cancer, subsequent pregnancy complications, and a whole range of emotional problems, including post-traumatic stress (also referred to as post-abortive stress as it relates to this specific experience.)

So this letter is imploring you to demonstrate a conviction that transcends secular politics. The Freedom of Choice Act will force medical care providers who don't believe in abortion to assist in abortions against their conscience.

Are you pleased or does your conscience feel affirmed if and when someone forces you to violate a deeply held principle? So, as the people who will ultimately decide to vote for or against this bill, how can you thereby justify forcing someone else into an act they consider murder?

If you have any love for God, I hope that you will oppose this bill. If a person denies there is a nexus between how one governs and what one espouses privately, they are deluded. If one claims to support abortion in only rare cases, yet enacts legislation that completely strips away existing widely supported limits on abortion, they are a hypocrite. In all cases, they will answer to God for the murders they abetted. Regardless of dialectic, making others an accessory, albeit indirectly, to murder, is just wrong.

Prayer for Unborn Life:

O GOD OF LIFE AND LOVE, You have given us the gift to participate with You to bring new life into the world. But, all too often, the mother's womb, which should be a nursery of life, becomes instead a place of it's destruction.

Help us to remove this evil and ensure respect for all life made in Your image and likeness, called to fulfill its promise on this earth,
and destined to find a home with you for all eternity.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Our God, Our Savior, and Our ALL.

Congressman Introduces Bill to De-Fund Planned Parenthood Abortion Business

Congressman Mike Pence, an Indiana Republican, has filed a bill that would cut the federal government funding send to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business.

Pro-Life Dos and Don'ts for 2009

Fr. Tom Euteneuer

Dear Friends of Life,

The pro-life movement is going through a great deal of self-examination at this time. I am not a pessimist, but my sense of realism tells me that the election of extreme abortion advocate, Barack Obama, and the nearly 7,000 political appointments of his administration will usher in a new decade of war on decency and the sanctity of life. Despite the ferocious optimism of his inauguration, the dark clouds of the culture of death are gathering over Washington as we speak, ready to cast their darkness everywhere.

In this time of preparation for the upcoming total war on life, I offer this modest list of Dos and Don'ts for the generous and valiant pro-lifers who gather for the March for Life in Washington, DC on January 22nd. May all men and women of good will take these recommendations to heart for a fruitful pro-life 2009!

1. Above all, do not grow despondent: there is much to fear for the situation of life around the world, but we are not permitted by our Christian faith to give up our efforts or zeal for life. In fact, we need to redouble it!

2. Do not become absorbed in the quest for a political solution to abortion: after 36 years of working for a political solution to abortion, we may soon see the wiping out of most, if not all, of the pro-life movement's gains with the stroke of a pen. Politics has failed. Or rather, we have failed at politics. Either way, politics now offers us little chance of anything other than just trying to slow the massive momentum of the culture of death.

3. Do not waste any more energy on overturning Roe: two Supreme Court seats are assured during an Obama administration, and they will undoubtedly be filled with extreme pro-abortion activist judges. A third appointment will leave us with no hope of overturning Roe in anyone's lifetime reading this. For that matter, the chance that a good pro-life President will succeed Obama in four years and nullify the leftward lurch of the high court is, shall we say, unlikely. Let's get hopes of undoing Roe out of our system and focus on more productive things.

1. Pray every day for God to end abortion with our help (in that order): abortion is such a great spiritual and social evil that only the divine power of God Himself can end it. "The Lord hears the cry of the poor," but God will not do it alone. He needs us to humbly recognize the basic fact that it is humanly impossible to end this evil. We need to get on our knees and beg His Mercy on the unborn and the conversion of all those who commit these evils.

2. Commit to fasting every week to end the evils of abortion and contraception: "Some demons can only be driven out by prayer and fasting," said the Lord, and we have to take that admonition seriously if we are to effect any change in the hearts of our people or of our society. Fasting makes us more spiritual and gives greater efficacy to all our works and prayers.

3. Take back the culture: Even if the anti-lifers hold the reins of political power, we must not sit back and allow moral anarchists to define all the terms of the cultural or social agenda. Whether it is through social activism for life (crisis pregnancy centers, pickets and prayer marches) or through touching hearts and minds one soul at a time (persuasion, formation, teaching, media), we cannot be neutral about the direction our American culture is heading. It is leading us to certain spiritual death, and no one can afford that. We need to fight for it and never give up the battle.

I promise you that Human Life International will be in the struggle for lives and souls continuously. It is our calling and mission. We will never give one inch to uphold the truth that the whole world needs to hear more than ever: namely, that human life is sacred from the first moment of natural fertilization to the moment of natural death - and we will defend it whether Obama likes it or not.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer,
President, Human Life International

How the House Stimulus Bill Undercuts Parental Authority

Buried in the economic stimulus legislation is a provision further undercutting parental authority and expanding control of taxpayer dollars by family planning clinics. No doubt these provisions are embodied in the economic stimulus package because their congressional sponsors believe that they would not be enacted if considered separately on their own merits...

Obama Administration Agenda

The following is from the recently updated White House website

...Obama has stood up for a woman’s right to choose...

Health Care:

Supporting Stem Cell Research: President Obama and Vice President Biden believe that we owe it to the American public to explore the potential of stem cells to treat the millions of people suffering from debilitating and life-threatening diseases. Obama is a co-sponsor of the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2007, which will allow research of human embryonic stem cells derived from embryos donated (with consent) from in vitro fertilization clinics. These embryos must be deemed in excess and created based solely for the purpose of fertility treatment.

Reproductive Choice

Supports a Woman's Right to Choose: President Obama understands that abortion is a divisive issue, and respects those who disagree with him. However, he has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women's rights under Roe v. Wade a priority in his Adminstration. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in that case.

Preventing Unintended Pregnancy: President Obama was an original co-sponsor of legislation to expand access to contraception, health information, and preventive services to help reduce unintended pregnancies. Introduced in January 2007, the Prevention First Act will increase funding for family planning and comprehensive sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. The Act will also end insurance discrimination against contraception, improve awareness about emergency contraception, and provide compassionate assistance to rape victims.

Expand Hate Crimes Statutes: President Obama and Vice President Biden will strengthen federal hate crimes legislation, expand hate crimes protection by passing the Matthew Shepard Act, and reinvigorate enforcement at the Department of Justice's Criminal Section.
