Abortion clinics may take charge

Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 1/30/2010 4:10:00 AM

The legislature in Washington state is considering a proposal that would regulate pro-life pregnancy clinics that provide services in problem pregnancies.

Paula Cullen (Life Services)According to Paula Cullen, executive director of Life Services of Spokane, what is happening in the state is part of a nationwide campaign pushed by abortion-advocacy groups that seek to steer women in an unplanned pregnancy to abortion providers instead of pregnancy centers.

"A bill has been proposed in the Washington state legislature to regulate pregnancy centers in a way that would be very chilling on our ability to do what we are called to do," Cullen explains. "It would require pregnancy centers to conform to standards defined by Planned Parenthood and NARAL, etcetera." Full story.

If they're providing medical care, they should have to conform to medical standards, and carry medical malpractice insurance.

If they're NOT providing medical care, they should post signs saying so.

What are these "alternative pregnancy centers" trying to hide?

The double standard is at work again. This is merely an attempt by abortion advocates to drive out their "competition" by attempting to force pregnancy resource centers to comply with standards with which they themselves do NOT comply.

Pregnancy centers educate women about the choices that abortion mills do not, and in the process not only save childrens' lives but also protect women from the physical, emotional, and spiritual devastation that abortion brings.

While they insist that pregnancy resource centers are held to these "standards", abortion centers have successfully fought standards within their own industry. Consequently, VET clinics face tougher standards than abortuaries. This is hypocrisy.

Operation Counterstrike's comment is sadly misinformed, as is this bill in the Washington state legislature. Having been a counselor in a pregnancy center, I can say with 100% certainty that the many, many women and girls who came through our doors gave testimony to the fact that they had been lied to at Planned Parenthood and other abortion centers. They were not given choices, they were not given all of the facts, they were not supported to make THIER choice, but rather to make the one choice that PP and their like promote - abortion.

I would say the same to you Counterstrike, "What do you have to hide?" Why does NARAL and PP so vehemently appose informed consent? Why do they want the women that they supposedly fight for to stay in the dark? Why do they oppose a simple pro-life ad in the Super Bowl? Do you think this the middle ages when the thought was that woman can't be told the real truth because they can't handle it? Other, "more informed" entities like Planned Parenthood know better? Why would they stand by while a 14 year old girl is statutory raped by her 32 year old boyfriend? Is it to protect her? No, it is to protect abortionist and the multimillion dollar machine that they promote.

This is about the abortion industry megabucks being threatened and they will do anything to take down the ones who threaten them, even though what the non-profit pregnancy centers are doing is truly serving the needs of woman.

Like most people on the pro-abortion side they purport to be in favor of the principle of a woman's right to choose. But they steadfastly look away from the real facts of what actually happends to girls and women in the course of making that choice and the aftermath.
