The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) is contacting pro-life lawmakers in Washington to oppose six major abortion problems in the Senate healthcare reform measure.
The Senate-passed bill being fashioned to send to the House would set up a $7-billion fund for community health centers without any restrictions against using the money for abortions. Douglas Johnson, a spokesman for NRLC, laments that fact.
"In fact there are groups such as the Abortion Access Project which are already pressing [and] encouraging these community health centers to do abortions," says Johnson. "This Senate healthcare bill would open up a huge reservoir of federal funds that could be used for that purpose."
According to the pro-lifer, that is just one of six ways the bill would expand abortion. Full article.
