Today Hawaii Family Forum | Hawaii Catholic Conference released a voter education guide for the 2010 election season. The Hawaii Family Forum | Hawaii Catholic Conference surveyed candidates running for the US Congressional districts, Governor and Lt. Governor, House and Senate and the Board of Education.
The survey includes some questions of particular interest to pro-life advocates:
ABORTION RESTRICTIONS • Currently, federal taxpayer funds may not be used to pay for abortions except in the case of rape, incest or when the pregnancy threatens the woman’s life. Would you vote to continue this policy?
PHYSICIAN-ASSISTED SUICIDE • Would you sign into law a bill that would legalize physician-assisted suicide in Hawaii?
RELIGIOUS CONSCIENCE EXEMPTION • Would you sign into law a bill that would give religious-affiliated healthcare institutions in Hawaii a conscience exemption in laws requiring hospitals to offer emergency contraceptives to sex assault victims?
HUMAN SEXUALITY PRESENTATIONS • Would you vote to give parents advance notice about school presentations on human sexuality so they can opt their children out of such
We urge you to take the time to view the survey to see how the candidates for your districts responded. If candidate(s) in your districts did not respond, we encourage you to contact them directly (the guide conveniently provides their phone numbers). We also suggest that you share the voter education guide with other pro-lifers. The guide may be reproduced, as long as you do so in its entirety; to request copies for your church or community group, simply complete and return the order form to Hawaii Family Forum.
Remember to vote in the primary on September 18!
