Brothers and Sisters,
I just learned with sorrow of the death of one of the world’s greatest pro-life advocates, Fr. Paul Marx, OSB.
Fr. Marx was, first and foremost, a priest who was not afraid to be a prophet. He knew that his mission in bearing witness to the Gospel and in fostering love of God and neighbor compelled him to speak up for our smallest neighbors, those in the first moments and weeks of life. He undertook countless initiatives, made seemingly endless trips, gave innumerable talks, wrote a warehouse of articles and books, and inspired countless people in the effort to build a Culture of Life.
I first came to know Fr. Marx through his founding and leadership of Human Life International and the remarkable conferences he held for pro-life advocates around the world. He was always a clear reminder to his brother priests that we should never be afraid to speak about abortion, contraception, and the beauty of human sexuality as taught by the Church. All of us at Priests for Life are grateful for the strong encouragement he gave to our ministry. We will pray not only for the repose of his soul, but for the continued fruit of his labors in the minds and hearts of so many people and in the policies of so many nations...
Fr. Frank Pavone
May he rest in peace.

OTTAWA, March 16, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The official international development arm of the Canadian Bishops’ Conference has produced a 10-page document in which the organization accuses LifeSiteNews (LSN) and Campaign Life Coalition (CLC), Canada's largest national pro-life organization, of association with “groups and individuals” who have used violence.
Trenton, N.J., Mar 19, 2010 / 03:18 am (CNA).- As part of a wider budget cutting plan, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has proposed the complete elimination of millions of dollars of funding for “family planning” agencies run by Planned Parenthood.Read the rest here
Christie, a Republican who took office in January, faces an $11 billion deficit.
According to Mary Tasy, executive director of New Jersey Right to Life (NJRTL), Planned Parenthood-run agencies have been receiving millions of state taxpayer dollars. Their funding had nearly doubled since 2002.
In the same period, New Jersey was one of the top three states with the highest teen abortion rates...
Denver, Colo., Mar 19, 2010 / 01:18 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- In a column published today on the website of First Things, Denver’s Archbishop Charles Chaput has commented on how certain “Catholic” groups are working to undermine the U.S. bishops' stance on health care reform. Should the morally deficient Senate version of health care reform be passed into law against the will of the American people, he said, the dissenting “Catholic” voices will be among those responsible...Read the rest here

This is Speaker of the House actually saying we should pray to St. Joseph the Worker today his feast day, to pass this evil health care reform. Really! BTW, it is not the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker the Catholic Church is celebrating, which is May 1st, but St. Joseph the Husband of Mary. Just an example on how much this "Catholic" politician knows her faith.
Another example is a story we shared yesterday found here where a small group of sisters/nuns are opposing the bishops with regard to passing the health care reform.
Let us pray that God protect the unborn and the vulnerable and that the pro-life politicians will take a strong stance for life.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A Michigan pro-abortion activist who is upset that Bart Stupak has stood strong against abortion funding in the Senate health care bill is putting together a credible primary election challenge against the pro-life Democrat. Connie Saltonstall has already received pro-abortion support for the race.
Saltonstall is making abortion the sole reason for her candidacy for Michigan's 1st District of Congress.
"I believe that [Stupak] has a right to his personal, religious views, but to deprive his constituents of needed health care reform because of those views is reprehensible," she said of him opposing forcing taxpayers to fund abortions. Full story

(TheChurchReport.com) - In my last column, I recounted the experience of a former Planned Parenthood clinic director, Abby Johnson, who walked out of her abortion clinic and into the pro-life movement after watching an abortion on an ultrasound monitor. After watching a baby destroyed on the monitor before her eyes, Abby said, “The first thing I thought of was all the women I’d lied to.”
But we all know that lies beget lies. Abby was speaking of surgical abortion and Planned Parenthood’s insistence that a baby is only a “blob of tissue” or the “products of conception.” Increasingly, though, Planned Parenthood affiliate abortion clinics are pushing the so-called “chemical abortion” option with the dangerous RU-486 drug, now re-labeled Mifepristone or “Mifeprex” for easier marketing. A chemical RU-486 abortion costs less for Planned Parenthood, but clinics typically pocket the markup, charging about the same – roughly $350 to $650 – as for a surgical abortion at the same gestation. And what’s Planned Parenthood’s track record for dealing honestly with women about the medical risks and consequences of RU-486 abortion? Not much better.
Enter Angie Jackson, a 27-year-old self-professed “Anti-Theist” micro-blogger who recently decided to blog her RU-486 abortion, obtained courtesy of her local Planned Parenthood clinic. Angie probably relied on Planned Parenthood’s assertion that the drug is “safe and effective” – and the FDA, in approving it, deemed it so. But Planned Parenthood has never felt bound by the dosage requirements and conditions the FDA also placed upon providers of the drug as part and parcel of this determination. Full story.

The idea behind the interactive webcast program ’Bump’ was to follow three fictitious characters through unplanned pregnancies and invite viewers to debate and try to shape whatever decisions the three women came to about choosing abortion or not. It set out to be provocative, and it did provoke.
Now the web series has come to an end, and producers are encouraging more conversation. What to say…..?
It is certainly a unique cultural moment. From the beginning of the series, I’ve been receiving updates in my inbox regularly as I somehow landed on Yellow Line Studio’s mailing list as no doubt thousands of others have. And to borrow the phrase from Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink, I felt intuitive repulsion before thinking about it more, but have thought about it more. Especially when I saw the comments of a few people whose insights I value. Full story.

According to a pamphlet unearthed by the pro-life group Live Action, back in 1952, Planned Parenthood - today the largest abortion provider in the United States - told women that having an abortion was a danger to their lives, health, and fertility, and kills a baby.
