Prolonging life for transplant recipients should not hasten death for donors

The transplant industry is extremely interested in the definition of death. Transplants now include kidneys, hearts, livers, pancreas, corneas, lungs, and other body parts. Even a face has been transplanted. These transplants allow recipients to continue their lives, lives which may have been marred without a transplant. But the number of needed organs exceeds the number of available organs for transplantation. On this shortage stands the definition of death. Liberalize the definition of death, and increase the number of available organs.

Medically, death occurs when the heart stops and breathing stops. These two parameters defined it for millennia. But with medical technology, applying that definition has become fuzzy and troubling. Death now includes brain death and cardiac death, with cardiac death the most controversial. Read more.

Obama Admin May Have Illegally Spent $10 Million Promoting Abortion in Kenya

Washington, DC ( -- New information obtained by a member of Congress makes it appear the Obama administration has spent $10 million potentially illegally promoting a pro-abortion constitution in Kenya. Obama officials were thought to have spent $2 million but Rep. Chris Smith says that figure could exceed $10 million.

Lobbying for or against abortion is prohibited under a provision of federal law known as the Siljander Amendment annually included in the State, Foreign Operations Appropriations Act.

Autism: Study Confirms Increased Rates Correlate with Use of Aborted Fetal Cells

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency conducted a study, published in Environmental Science & Technology,1 that shows a correlation between the rise in autism rates since the 1980s and the use of fetal cells from aborted pregnancies. The study shows 1988 as a "change point" in the rise of Autistic Disorder (AD) rates and correlated data from 10+ year studies conducted in the U.S., Japan, Denmark, and other countries.
