The Abortion-Vaccine-Autism Link and What to Do

Shouldn’t we determine whether injecting the DNA from aborted babies into our children is safe, oh yeah, and moral too?

What’s a Catholic to do?

Let’s not mince words here. We’ve got a problem. Last fall a new study published in the American Academy of Pediatrics’ journal Pediatrics found a parent-reported autism prevalence rate of one in every 91 American children, including one in 58 boys. For years, groups like Autism Speaks and public figures like Jenny McCarthy and John Travolta have been trying to find out what is causing this dramatic rise in the number of reported cases of autism. For a time, vaccines were thought to be the culprit because of the thimerosal (a mercury preservative) contained in some vaccines. Now something even more sinister may be the deadly link: the DNA from voluntarily aborted babies that is used as a base ingredient in many childhood vaccines. New research is underway now after the latest findings reinforced the fact that the use of these tainted vaccines correlate perfectly with the spike in autism rates around the world.

AZ Nun's Approval of Abortion Stirs Global Debate

Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted of Phoenix is being criticized by religious lawyers and medical ethicists for his declaration that a nun had excommunicated herself by advising that a seriously ill woman could have an abortion.

In an international debate raging in religious magazines and on the Internet, experts say the bishop failed to appreciate the circumstances that led to Sister Margaret McBride's decision as an administrator at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.

Olmsted declared McBride had excommunicated herself by "procuring," or bringing about, an abortion, and anti-abortion groups have assailed the nun.

DILLER: Planned Parenthood's missing millions

A new report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on federal tax money funneled into Planned Parenthood and similar organizations raises more questions than it answers about the nation's largest abortion chain.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America's (PPFA) audits show the organization spent just $657.1 million between 2002 and 2008 from federal government grants and programs, but the abortion behemoth's own annual reports show that it took in $2.3 billion from government grants and programs during the same time period.

That's not pocket change. Why the discrepancy?

Official report to NZ Government says that screening and aborting Down Syndrome babies is an effective cost saving tool

by Brendan Malone
from Semper Vita, the blog of Family Life International New Zealand

After our Life Matters column last week about the new eugenic antenatal screening programme operating in New Zealand, we were sent a copy of an official National Screening Unit (NSU) Report from 2007 (obtained under the Official Information Act).

The report is titled: Summary of Key Informant Interviews Antenatal Down syndrome Screening, Final Report, and in a section titled “Cost Effectiveness”, it clearly outlines the case for why aborting Down syndrome babies is more cost effective than allowing them to live.

What is rather interesting about this document is that it doesn’t use the word ‘abortion’, instead it uses sanitized euphemisms like ‘avoiding the birth of a baby’. Read more.
