Honolulu City Council Candidate Endorsements Announced for Special Election

As part of its Vote for Life Hawai'i project, Hawaii Right to Life PAC has announced its endorsement of several pro-life candidates running for the Honolulu City Council District 1 special election ending December 29. The election is being held to fill the seat vacated by Todd Apo.

Honolulu City Council District 1 encompasses Ewa, Ewa Beach, Honouliuli, West Loch, Kapolei, Kalaeloa (Barber’s Point), Honokai Hale and Nanakai Gardens, Ko’Olina, Nanakuli, Wai’anae, Makaha, Keaau, and Makua. Election results will be announced on December 29.

The election will be conducted entirely by mail, and polling places will not be open on election day. All registered voters (as of the voter registration deadline) will automatically be mailed a packet containing the vote-by-mail ballot and return envelope. Ballots will be mailed approximately 20 days prior to the election.

Voted ballots must be received by the City Clerk no later than 6:00 p.m., December 29 in the return envelopes provided. Submission of an “absentee ballot” application form to receive a ballot packet is not required unless the registered voter transfers into the district after the voter registration deadline or if the voter is unable to receive mail at the address listed in the general county registry. A message from Garret Hashimoto, Aloha Pregnancy Care and Counseling Centers

For the past 12 years, our clients at the Aloha Pregnancy Care and Counseling Centers have experienced quality care which includes ultrasounds to confirm viability of pregnancy, pregnancy tests, pregnancy counseling, alternatives to abortions, post abortion counseling, quality maternity and baby clothes, baby food and diapers, parenting classes, abstinence education, adoption, physician and social agencies referrals, as well as social service assistance for WIC and Quest.

In the past our primary source of funding came from the faith-based Christian Family Charities and their Donate Any Vehicle Program. However past federal legislation changes had limited the tax deduction available to donors, which in turn, had altered the level of support for the centers.

We are pleased to announce that Christian Family Charities and their Donate Any Vehicle Program can once again offer a Maximum Tax Deduction. Won't you please help save the precious lives of babies by donating your car, truck or boat, to this worthy cause.
