Courageous: 2 Catholic Fathers – one unemployed – refuse to build Planned Parenthood clinic (+what we can do)

From Catholic Vote see what else Thomas Peters has to say here:

The job offer] couldn’t have come at a better time. Tim’s unemployment benefits were about to run out [he had been unemployed since July 2009]. He could hardly believe what the voice on the other end was presenting to him — an offer to be a job foreman for at least 11 months, with a salary of $65,000 to $70,000 a year.

Perfect, Tim thought. Then came the bad news — he would be working on construction of a new Planned Parenthood Clinic in St. Paul on University Avenue. The highest of highs became the lowest of lows as he quickly turned down the offer.

“The roller coaster started going downhill,” said Tim, 38. “He [the union rep] wasn’t really sure if there were going to be abortions there. He kind of sidestepped that, I think, to try to entice me to say yes. But, I said, ‘Wait a minute. It’s a Planned Parenthood.’”

And, just like that, Tim went back to being unemployed with no immediate prospects — and his unemployment benefits set to run out sometime this month... (The Catholic Spirit)

This amazing film reveals the truth that there is no weight of human despair so heavy that it cannot be lifted by the grace of God–even the deep wounds of a past abortion. In this collection of true stories women and men tell of the miraculous journey from a dark place of human grief and shame toward the light of God’s forgiveness and grace.

Few people realize how many American women and men have participated in an abortion. Rarely will those affected by abortion seek counsel or find healing from this haunting memory. But there is hope and new life – and amazingly incredible and unexpected JOY– available for anyone who seeks God’s true healing.

Set Free is a project of Abortion Recovery Assistance, a ministry of Piedmont Women’s Center, located in Greenville, South Carolina. PWC is an oasis of hope committed to demonstrating the love of Christ to those with pregnancy-related needs.

Latest 40 Days for Life Sees Babies Saved From Abortions
by Shawn Carney | Washington, DC | | 3/13/11 12:36 PM

This is the first report of babies saved so far during this 40 Days for Life campaign. I know we are ONLY THREE DAYS into the campaign, but God has no time limit on working miracles — here are just a few:

Rockford, Illinois

On Wednesday, the first day of the 40 Days for Life campaign, a young woman pulled into the abortion center’s parking lot. “She and a friend sat in their car for over 20 minutes,” wrote James. “The young mother kept looking over at the pro-lifers praying.”

She would look at the sign with a picture of a baby in the womb — and then cover her eyes.

“As time went on, she kept looking over at the people praying and she would look for a longer period of time,” James said. “Finally she rolled down her window and listened to a counselor speak to her of the love and help available.”

On a typical Wednesday, this facility in Rockford performs 15 abortions. “Today, because of the power of prayer,” said James, “that number was cut in half to seven.” Read more
