To the Saints of God in Honolulu:
Greetings and blessings in the name of our Father, the Giver of Life.
We hope that you were able to participate in the March for Life at the state capitol in January. It was truly encouraging and heart-warming to see such a large turnout, and to see reports of equally strong demonstrations at our nation’s Capitol and in states across our land!
What was especially encouraging was the youth turnout; well over 50%!! God has truly raised-up the Joshua generation to carry the torch for the Sanctity of God-given life! Despite what our lawmakers are doing in Washington, the people of God have not given up the fight.
Riding this wave of righteousness, 40 Days for Life is beginning its Spring 2013 Campaign Prayer Vigil on February 13. We are so blessed to have been a part of the 40 Days For Life campaign since Fall 2008 and this will be Honolulu’s ninth coordinated campaign. Here is part of the success report from the national website:
There have now been 11 coordinated 40 Days for Life campaigns since 2007, mobilizing people of faith and conscience in 481 cities across the United States and Canada, plus cities in Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Belize, Denmark, England, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Poland, Puerto Rico, Spain and Uganda.
Reports document 6,749 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about.
76 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry.
27 abortion facilities completely shut down following local 40 Days for Life campaign.
We will start off our Honolulu Vigil on February 13, Ash Wednesday, by gathering in front of Planned Parenthood at 4p.m. We hope that this schedule will allow you to make it to your church and parish services after that. Please come out and make this a strong start. [No parking on S. King Street after 3:30 p.m.]
Please log on to our website at www.40daysforlife.com/honolulu and sign up by clicking on the Vigil Calendar to participate. Although some cities hold vigil for 24 hours around the clock, Honolulu vigil hours are held for the 12-hour minimum for the safety of our participants from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily until the final day of the Spring campaign ending on Palm Sunday, March 24. In addition to signing up individually, we encourage you to gather a group of friends and family and sign up for at least one time slot. It was impressive to see South Beretania Street, in front of the Hawaii state capitol, covered with pro-lifers during the March for Life. Let us continue together to Pray for an End to Abortion here in Hawaii and for our nation! Hope to see you on February 13 at 4 p.m. for prayer and praise!
